What is a lock washer?
A lock washer is a fastener used to prevent a nut to loose because of vibration.
When do you use a lock washer?
You add a lock washer to a nut whenever there are vibration and rotation to prevent the nut to lose. Because nut has a tolerance that's why you can install it by hand if the equipment vibrates and rotates it can easily loosen the nut in that case you just need to add a lock washer.
