What is a Basket Strainer?
A basket strainer is a device that uses a mesh screen to filter out foreign particles in a horizontal pipeline. These particles are then removed from the strainer and will not make their way into downstream equipment like pumps, valves, and traps.How to Clean your Basket strainer.
1: Isolate power and close inlet and outlet valves.
2: Connect Hose and start to drain your system completely.
3: Make sure no more water in the system and check the pressure gauge if it is 0 zero.
4: Remove all the bolts on the top cover of the basket strainer, lift up the top cover and pull out the basket strainer if it's hard give it a tap.
5: After you pull out the basket strainer use running water and scrub it using a wire brush.
6: Also clean inside the housing and make sure to remove all rust and debris on the drain line.
7: After you clean it all, Put back the basket strainer inside in the same position.
8: Also clean flanges and apply gasket maker for sealing.
9: Put back the top cover and tighten the bolt do the cross pattern method upon tightening.
10: After you, sure all bolts are evenly tight open the valve release air from the air vents, and check for the leak when there's no more leak run the pump and check again for leaks and abnormal sound.
