How to check your Generator Battery Condition if its Good or Bad in Easy Way

Do you want to check your Generator without using any tools and without technical knowledge? 

If that's your question this post is for you. But before I gave you those steps let me tell you first how the battery works on your power generator system.

How battery Works in your generator?

The working principle of the battery is to convert chemical energy into electrical energy. The battery used in a generator is commonly maintenance-free battery. 

1. The battery is mainly used to start the diesel engine. There is a starting motor on one side of the diesel engine, which is driven by a direct current (24V) starter motor.

2. It is used to monitor whether the grid and pre-start oil/water conditions meet the starting requirements.

3. Used for excitation (some types of generators require manual excitation after starting).

How to check your generator battery condition?

As you can see in the illustration above you can check your battery health condition by searching battery indicator sight glass. Look at it at the top use flashlight and check what's the color, Then check the battery indicator health color guide to identify the meaning of each color. Usually green says good and red means needed to replace and white is battery need charging.
